  • Independence Day 2024

    Jim Allen, Publisher|Jul 1, 2024

Intelligence allows you to learn from your mistakes. Wisdom allows you to learn from other peoples mistakes. Wisdom generally only comes with age. In the 70's I made one of the largest mistakes I have ever made in judging a political figure. Because I had unknowingly listened to some bad information I made a judgment about a key political figure. Over the years when the subject came up I stuck to my opinion, wrong though it was. Many years later I took the time to listen to someone whose... Full story

  • Voting

    Jim Allen, Publisher|Jun 1, 2024

I keep receiving unsolicited information telling me about letting illegals vote. Has this country and "We The People" really become this jaded by our politicians that we will even consider letting this happen? There are so many things wrong with this concept that it is hard to find a starting point. This is one of the first things that comes to my mind. Being a veteran, and knowing many veterans, it is hard to wrap my head around the thought that when so many fought and died to preserve our... Full story

Not the one we had hoped for her. Life is hard on the streets. Attack, accident, fight or automobile? We don't know. The real Bella is a very vibrant and lov... Full story

  • Big Tony

    Jim Allen, Publisher|Apr 1, 2024

Big Tony is a success story. We have had a number of these stories since we began the VFW 3513 Alley Cat Rescue several years ago. Unfortunately, these success stories don't make it any easier to remember the kitties who were not so lucky. This has definitely been a learning process. Starting out I was naive and hopeful of making all of their lives easier and better. Reality soon took over. It is a monumental task. And, the odds against saving them all is unrealistic. Still we persist and take... Full story

Note - You can tell by the reference to Biden being in office for two years that I wrote this some time ago. However, can't you see how much worse things have gotten in that short time with the Biden Regime in power? Contributing our energy, money and time is our contribution to the Victory Garden effort of World War II. World War II - A time when the whole nation came together to fight our enemies. • In Flanders Field

Are we going to stand by and let our country be taken from us? Consider how it will be in our country and around the world if we allow the communists to take over our country. Make no mistake that is exactly what is happening right now. In the past few months we have lost: our churches, our schools, our restaurants - in fact many of our small businesses will never recover, our savings.
