    YAKIMA - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has extended the deadline through May 25 to register for a Hunter Education Jamboree. The jamboree, scheduled June 6-7 in Yakima County, offers prospective hunters who have completed online hunter education coursework an opportunity to complete field skills requirements.   • Grand Canyon National Park Announces Entrance and Backcountry Camping Fee Increases

    Grand Canyon, Ariz. –Effective June 1, 2015, Grand Canyon National Park will increase park entrance fees and the cost of overnight backcountry permits. The current park entrance fees have been in place since 2006. Grand Canyon began charging for overnight backcountry permits in 1997 and last modified backcountry fees in 2000.     SPOKANE - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) public access site at Newman Lake in eastern Spokane County will be closed June 2-4 to allow treatment of the lake with herbicide to control Eurasian milfoil and other aquatic invasive weeds.
