Apache Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Arizona, and because the road is not paved, Apache rarely gets crowded, even in summer. Fishing can be awesome here, with largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, trout, yellow bass, catfish, carp, sunfish and crappies all represented. PHOENIX – Recent moisture and cooler temperatures have allowed the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) to lift fire restrictions on state-owned and managed lands across Arizona. Effective 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, the agency lifted Stage I restrictions in Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave – south of the Colorado River, and Yuma Counties. The Coconino National Forest is seeking public input on proposed fee implementation at the Clint's Well and Kehl Springs campgrounds, and fee increases at Blue Ridge, Rock Crossing, Knoll Lake, Elks, Long Valley Work Center and Moqui campgrounds on the Mogollon Rim Ranger District. Applications are being accepted by mail. Arizona hunters will have an opportunity to receive a hunt permit-tag for select 2019 deer, fall turkey and fall youth-only javelina hunts.
