Grand Canyon, Ariz. - On Friday, September 7 at approximately 11:00 A.M., a Canyoneers commercial river trip was preparing for day hike at Clear Creek (RM 85), when a 65 year old female passenger went into the river while disembarking. Summer is the perfect time to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon because the higher elevation of the North Rim means forest and cool summer days. The North Rim is usually a lot less crowded than the South Rim as well, mostly because it takes a lot longer to get there. The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has submitted its official comments on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's (FWS) draft Mexican wolf recovery plan which, when finalized, will outline a science-based strategy for continuing the successful reintroduction of Mexican wolves in its historic range.
