PAGE, Ariz. — A new Personal Watercraft (PWC) regulation went into effect on January 1, which requires PWC operating on Lake Powell to meet 2006 emission standards established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Stripers are still running along the canyon walls in the southern lake. They spilled into the main channel 3 weeks ago and have been eager to hit bait offered by anglers ever since. I have heard they are chasing boats, begging for anchovies. Well, that may be a bit much, but if you pass over some hungry stripers please stop and feed them! Page, AZ – National Park Service Rangers are searching for two missing persons in two separate incidences that occurred over the last several days. A swimmer was reported missing in Gunsight Bay on Friday, September 21 at approximately 11:00 am. Join Glen Canyon National Recreation Area staff on May 20 to experience a rare annular eclipse of the sun. Wahweap View, three miles north of the Carl Hayden Visitor Center on US Highway 89, is the park’s official eclipse viewing location.
