We recently lost our old French Brittany, Rosie. She was an amazing hunter, a tireless hiker, a lover of children, and a fishing fool. She had almost reached the ripe old age of 17 – she would have been 17 in September of this year. We miss her terribly. Jack Cole, Skipjack boats, passed away on February 23, 2018. We join the entire Skipjack family, including Irene and his two sons, Jack, Jr. and Jeff Cole, in honoring this legend and his contribution to boating during his lifetime. A close friend and fellow Tuna Club member, Carl Lund, who has also passed away, introduced me to Jack Cole in Avalon in the mid-seventies. By that time, Cole had established himself as one of a select few successful boat designers with his "Skipjack"...

CANYON LAKE, Ariz. — Boaters and other outdoor recreationists are advised that the Palo Verde Boat Ramp at Canyon Lake will temporarily close from March 1 through March 17 for a facility improvement project.
