Grand Canyon, Ariz. – National Park Service fire managers on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon are managing the Kanabownits Fire for multiple objectives. Lynx Lake One of our favorite little hikes in the pines is the easy trail #311 that circles Lynx Lake. Most of this trail is shaded by trees, and the lake and the forest around it are gorgeous. We often see a huge variety of birds and small mammals, even in the summer. Homolovi State Park is closed temporarily until May 28 for road construction and improvement work by Arizona State Parks. This roadwork was paid for by a $199,879 contract funded with Arizona Department of Transportation Roadside Development funds for Arizona State Parks to repair the main roads through the park.
