Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!

The Tall Ship "Bill Of Rights" Now In Chula Vista

The 136 foot schooner now resides in the California Yacht Marina in Chula Vista. The South Bayfront Sailing Assoc., a non-profit, has purchased the classic two masted schooner from the Los Angeles Maritime Institute.

The South Bayfront Assoc will use the schooner to provide sailing events and educational programs. She is certified to carry 30 passengers and 8 crewmen in open waters.

The Bill of Rights was built in 1971 in Maine and led a tall ships parade into New York Harbor during the OptSail celebration. In the late 1980's the ship journeyed to the West Coast. Over the past 6 years, more than 10,000 students have been part of the award-winning sailing program in the Channel Islands Harbor area.
