Poker Run Supports Lake Havasu Food Bank

From Jim Nichols

Welcome to the 2014 Monster Bash Poker Run on Oct.17 through 18. Once again, we're supporting the Lake Havasu Food Bank, as our designated charity, so a percentage of the poker run jackpot will be donated and participants are encouraged to make any other donations of non perishable food at the event.

The Monster Bash Poker Run is little smaller and easier going event than our Desert Storm event in April, with a fun theme and costumes encouraged. Each year we've held the event the first weekend in November but due to Halloween's falling on Friday of our normal weekend, we've pushed it up a couple of weeks.

A Favorite

This is our seventh year for Monster Bash and it has become a favorite of our long-time participants and is growing bigger than ever. This event is limited in number and size of boats - it is for boats 35 feet and under, with special invitation to larger boats that have provided special support to our events. We want to encourage those who feel the Desert Storm event no longer accommodates their boat.

Thanks To The Sponsors

Our Title Sponsor Teague Custom Marine plus the Nautical Resort, Nordic Boats, ILMOR, IMCO, Pirate Cove, Prestige Marine, Oregon Custom Marine and Domn8ter Powerboats have encouraged us to organize this event with their major sponsorships.

Fun For Whole Family

This Poker Run is themed for Halloween to make it fun for the whole family. Included in this event is an opportunity for a holiday photo of each boat in front of the London Bridge. These will be included on an event photo CD to be mailed out after the event.

For the last few years we have held an open house and welcome party on Thursday and would like to do it again, we'll let you know as the planning firms up.

We'll have our Friday Lunch Run and evening reception/registration party. Saturday is full with the Poker Run and we'll top off the event with an awards costume party Saturday night in the Nautical Conference Center.
