Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!
The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department is currently updating the 1988 Master Plan for Estrella Mountain Regional Park and is seeking input from the community. The goal of the Park Master Plan is to develop a long-range vision for the park that takes into account park visitors needs while also protecting the resources and natural open space found within the park.
"The department is beginning the initial phase of the planning process and it is important for us to make sure that the community is a part of that process," said Maricopa County Board of Supervisor Steve Gallardo, District 5. Estrella Mountain Regional Park abuts the suburbs of Goodyear and Avondale.
"The April 30th meeting is the first public meeting that will be hosted at the park. During this phase of the planning process, I've asked staff to gather input from park users regarding their recreational needs and preferences. This will help to guide us in the development of the draft master plan," said R.J. Cardin, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department Director.
The public comment period for the first phase of the project will remain open for thirty days, concluding at the close of business on May 30.
