Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!

Reminder: June 9 is deadline to apply for 2015 fall hunts

All permit-tag applications must be received by 11:59 p.m.

PHOENIX – The clock is ticking for hunters who have yet to apply for 2015 hunt permit-tags issued through the draw process for deer, fall turkey, fall javelina, bighorn sheep, fall buffalo and pheasant.

All online and paper applications must be received by the department no later than 11:59 p.m. (MST) Tuesday, June 9 – a first-year change from the traditional 7 p.m. deadline. Postmarks do not count.

Applicants are encouraged to use the online service at https://az.gov/azgfd/draw/home.xhtml (scroll down to “Apply for a Draw”). Purchasing a hunting license and filling out an application online is fast and easy. The online service also dramatically reduces the chances of making errors that could result in a rejected application.

For those who were planning to mail their paper applications, consider hand-delivering them to any of the seven statewide department offices to ensure they are received by the deadline. For those who need assistance with filling out an application, staff will be available until 5 p.m. at all department offices.

In addition, application assistance will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 8, by contacting the department at (602) 942-3000. Only on deadline day (Tuesday, June 9), from 5 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., online application assistance only will be available by calling the department at (623) 236-7424.

“We strongly encourage our hunters to apply early,” said Kathy Ford, hunt draw administrator. “Deadline day tends to be crazy with the increase in telephone calls from customers trying to obtain their hunter identification numbers, requesting help with the application process and a

myriad of other questions.”

Don’t put off applying for a 2015 hunt permit-tag. The deadline - 11:59 p.m. (MST) Tuesday, June 9 - is right around the corner.
