Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!
Yesterday, Monday June 22nd at approximately 12:34pm Maricopa Fire crews responded to a reported working house fire. Upon arrival, fire crews noticed a working fire to the rear of the structure. Fire crews were quick in there attack to extinguish the fire and isolate the fire to the back patio of the home. All occupants made it out of the home safely with one suffering some minor smoke inhalation. This individual was treated on scene by medical crews of the Maricopa Fire Department and didn't require hospitalization. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is currently under investigation.
With the increasing temperatures, heat exhaustion is always a major concern for our fire department personnel. To prevent harm to our firefighters the Maricopa Fire Department will have additional crews dispatched to larger incidents. These additional crews allow firefighters an opportunity to cool off and rehydrate prior to working again. The Maricopa Fire Department would like to remind everyone to drink plenty of water throughout the day and limit your time outside in these extreme temperatures.
