Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!

Prescott's Outdoor Opportunities Gain More Recognition

From Kelly Tolbert - Recreation Services Coordinator (With Contributor Nancy Nesbit)

With the cleanest air in Arizona, a mild four-seasons climate, diverse ecosystem, and vibrant outdoor lifestyle, Prescott has been receiving positive press over the last few years. Several publications have listed Prescott as one of the best small towns in which to retire. Others have focused on the outdoor lifestyle, making Prescott a perfect

place to live and visit, especially for hikers and mountain bikers.

Olympic mountain biker Chloe Woodruff was quoted in a Sunset Magazine article stating, "Almost anyone can ride a bike and hike here. The terrain is so diverse, and every season there are new trails going in".

Many of the City's expanding 80 plus miles of trail are included in the 50-mile Prescott Circle Trail, which also takes visitors through the Prescott National Forest.

Most recently, the February 2017 edition of Sunset Magazine listed Prescott in their 2017 Best Value Towns at number four. The piece focuses on the outdoor experiences available, especially hiking and mountain biking. A nod to Prescott's history and western flavor was depicted with photos of the Palace Saloon and Whiskey Row.

In October 2009, National Geographic included Prescott in their Best 100 Adventure Towns.
