Giving A Little Bit Of Home Means So Much

As the giving season and the special time we honor our veterans approaches, there is a special program that assures that those who are serving our country are not forgotten: "Packages from Home".

Generally, the smaller, travel sizes of hygiene and food supplies are recommended. Some of the items that our service members particularly appreciate receiving are the following:

Hygiene Supplies such as foot or body powder, hand sanitizer, eye drops, lip balm, sunscreen, deodorant (not anti-prespirant), lotions, shampoo and conditioner (travel size), hair products, wet wipes (unscented), feminine products, disposable razors, shaving cream, toothpaste (small size), toothbrushes, band aids, toilet paper, tissue packs (travel size), bug repellent, cool ties, etc.

Food Items such as single drink mixes, pop tarts, canned soup, microwave pop corn, sunflower seeds, coffee (one-pot packs), slim Jims, canned chili/ravioli/ spaghetti-Os, ramen soup noodle mix (3 oz.), canned fruit, canned tuna, chicken, turkey, granola/power/energy bars, Rice Krispie treats, snack crackers, hot chocolate (individual size), jelly (squeezable in plastic containers, peanut butter in plastic containers, nuts/trail mix (1.5-6 oz.) furit snacks, condiments, tabasco sauce (2 oz.), saltine crackers in sleeves, etc.

Wearables such as tee-shirts, boxer shorts (med., lge., XL), socks (men's and women's), etc.

Recreational Items (new or gently used) such as dominoes, handheld games, ping pong paddles/balls/nets, sports equipment and nets, video games and systems

If you are interested in participating in this program, Arizona Boating & Watersports/Western Outdoor Times will donate one free online ad (size TBA) for each $25 in merchandise you give. (Please keep your receipts.)
