You Are Invited To The Ball That Honors 247 Years

The 'Corps – soldiers of the sea, green amphibious monsters who will attack from the foam of the oceans of the world any land mass of any people who threaten or attack the United States of America or her people; "First To Fight".

The 'Corps was "born"at Tun Tavern, Philadelphia on November 10, 1775, the only service started in a tavern. However, the birth of the 'Corps was not formally celebrated until Marine General and Commandant John A. Lejeune declared in order 47 dated 1 November 1921 that, "In memory [of all marines who have served], it is fitting that we who are Marines should commemorate the birthday of our 'Corps by calling to mind the glories of its long and illustrious history".
