26347 Ritchie Navigation - Compass Conveniently Mounts Virtually Anywhere
Compass Mounts Anywhere
Many owners skip installing a compass due to a reliance on GPS, but when throttled down due to fog, rain or unfamiliar locations, it can't display direction well — and not at all if stopped. The Helmsman HB-740 from Ritchie Navigation is the ideal addition to any boat. Its bracket mount fits virtually anywhere, making it perfect for everything from a sportfish flybridge to a wakeboard dash to the console of a small center console.
Made in the USA, the Ritchie Helmsman model HB-740 is offered with a 3–3/4" Open dial, while HB-741 has a CombiDamp dial. Both cards float on a scientifically matched sapphire jewel and hardened steel pivot movement. Built-in compensators provide easy adjustment for deviation and powerful DirectiveForce™ magnets deliver fast heading lock-on, even in rough seas.
For easy reference, the polished dome of the Ritchie Helmsman HB-740 has a bright yellow lubber line and white 45° lubber lines. Model HB-741 has lubber lines fore and aft and red 45° marks. Built-in 12V green NiteVu illumination provides visual clarity at night while a moveable sun shield protects against glare from direct and reflected sun.
Made from a durable black composite, the Ritchie Helmsman magnetic compass is built to last. The durable metal bracket installs easily with two screws. Thumbscrews on either side allow the device to pivot for non-level surfaces and enable complete removal if needed for security.
Ritchie Navigation's Helmsman HB-740 and HB-741 measure 5.7" x 6.2" x 6.7". Backed by a five-year warranty, they're 100% repairable and cost $335.55.
