Paddlers Are Safer With Reliable Hand Pump

Series: Boating Safety | Story 40

Even with a spray skirt, kayaks can ship water, making them uncomfortable and unsafe. With the reliable Thirsty-Mate 318P1 Sea-Kayak Pump from Beckson Marine, it's fast and easy to de-water any small open or closed boat.

Made in the USA from non-corroding polyvinyl with solvent-welded construction, the Beckson Sea-Kayak Pump is nearly indestructible. Designed for the rigors of sea-kayaking, an integrated reinforcing shaft prevents the pump from flexing while using it in rolling seas. Because the device has no metal components, it won't affect a compass or rust.

Compact at only 18" in length and 1-3/4" in diameter, the Beckson Sea-Kayak Pump can move up to eight gallons of water a minute. An angled top sleeve directs water away from the kayak. Self-priming, the rigid T-grip handle and self-lubricating material make using the pump easy.

The Beckson Marine Thirsty-Mate 318P1 Sea-Kayak Pump includes a factory-installed Float-A-Pump Sleeve, in case it's accidentally dropped overboard. It retails for $64.80. The company also offers Lacing Hooks and Eye Straps for securing the pump to the kayak.
